Day 2 Discovery of Sibiu Start your day with a one hour tour of this saxon baroque city. Check-in at your selected hotel, a 4-star or 3-star international chain hotel, according to your final option. Continue your exploration with a visit at the Brukenthal National Museum and at the History Museum. Enjoy a wonderful evening in one of the many pubs or clubs in the old center and wonder around the Sibiu Christmas Market. For the seventh year in a row, the Sibiu Christmas Market brings about a festive atmosphere all around the market square. The most important fair in the country, the Sibiu Christmas Market will be held in the very central spot of the city between the 22nd November 2013 and the 26th December 2013. The former opening of the Market gathered around thousands of visitors. Erected in the Greater Square, the Market will assemble this year a block of 65 fair huts where merchants from over 20 counties will be selling their products.
Day 3 Discovery of the surroundings of Sibiu. Start your day by a trip to Cisnadie and Cisnadioara, two small and beautiful saxon towns close to Sibiu. Later in the afternoon, visit the largest open-air museum in Europe, the ASTRA folk technical museum. You will thus have the chance to discover the world of the Romanian villages at its best. Enjoy a dinner in one of the old traditional restaurants in the ASTRA museum and, if it’s snowy enough, you can swap that for a night run at the ski track (Arena Platos) in Paltinis, only 18 km away.
Day 4 Discovery the Saxon heritage in Transylvania. Leave for Sighisoara using the care we have provided you from the start. You will pass through Medias, another Saxon city with a rich mixed culture. You will also go through Copsa Mica, once the most polluted town in Europe. Visit Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its highlights. Don’t be afraid to enter Dracula’s birthplace. There’s a pretty good restaurant there now! Return to Sibiu in the afternoon on a different route, the Hartibaciu River Valley, one of the most picturesque Saxon areas in Transylvania. You will pass all the way through small villages who have been keeping their charm for hundred of years. You will stay in the same hotel tonight.
Day 5 Return to Bucharest. At the airport, you will be met by one of our colleagues to whom you will return the car.
